I've blocked in the butterfly only to realize that I've been using a different color of paint from my usual pallette.  I never used black and usually reach for a color called Payne's Gray which is black mixed with Ultramarine Blue or a dark, dark violet.  I mistakenly grabbed a bottle of Mars Black which really changed the look of this piece.  As a result of my color mistake, I decided to abandon the idea of a really dark, black butterfly since it would not be as bright when seen driving down the street at 35 miles an hour.
