- I am blessed to live where my grandfather homesteaded, to have three beautiful daughters who are my best friends, to have six delightful grandchildren who live nearby, to be married to my sweetheart of 35 years and to thrill to the special magic of creating my own works of art. I'll never cease to thrill to witnessing new ideas and images come to life from the point of a pencil or splash of a brush. I am blessed.

This is the first, new, finished piece for the OHMS show in Amarillo. I thought I'd better pick this one out of the table of items I set up to photo since it would be the first to spoil. After I got the pastel done and stood across the room to examine my work, I had to giggle about how it looks so much like the face of a muppet.
(Hee-hee) We paint what we love!
I visited the grocery story and went a little crazy buying an assortment of fruits and vegetables to study. This morning the cat and I scattered everything out on my dining room table and started slicing and shooting. Stay tuned to see what develops from this joyous start.

I have collected photos and stalks of sorghum and made a number of tries to get it to look just right. I started and finished this 13" x 18" pastel on Canson MiTienes paper thanks to a snow day that gave me a three day weekend.
