THANK YOU FOLLOWERS GIVEAWAY

I am so thrilled to have my artwork admired and noticed by people all over the planet.  It has been exciting to create works of art that people like and want to own.  My love of art has been tremendously validated through this blog, Pinterest, Facebook, Etsy and recently Tumblr.  It has been the perfect storm of online connections which has launched my studio in ways I never could have imagined.

To celebrate 1000 followers of "My Artwork" board on Pinterest I am giving away a print of one of my most popular dictionary drawings, "Artist."  To win this giveaway I am asking folks to answer "Why I Love Art" as a comment on this blog's post.  Please use around 25 words or so....please no looooooooong responses.

I will read everyone's response and pick my favorite on Valentines Day, 2/14/13.  Please include your email address so I can find you and get the winning print in the mail.  The print measures 6" x 9" and is printed 110 card stock in archival inks.

I'm excited to see what my online friends have to say.

AND .....thank you all for making my artistic journey such a joy!

Your art instantly brings a smile to my face. The combination of color, transparency and written page just makes my muse scream to get my hands on either my clay or fabrics and papers and create something! Thank you for giving many of us the opportunity to view your work on Pinterest.

I love art because it has always been a great outlet for me. Now I use it in my first grade classroom every opportunity I get and it amazes me how calming it is for my students.

Art takes what's known only to me and makes it visible, audible, compreheni-able by others. Making the invisible visible. And it's one way in which we are unmistakably like our creator.
I love art...bacause it allows me to bump into talented people who inspire me like Kristy Patterson, who will do great at the Memorial Day Paseo Show.

Rusty art major who discovered your blog via Pinterest. Recently inspired by you (love dictionary pages!) and others to start a trek to rediscover my art and blog about it.

Why I love art: Art seeks me - reveals despair, joy, angst, peace - entreats my soul to fill the empty page... to lift hearts. I seek art - as comfort, as challenge, as breath.
